Orla Kiely
Once described in the National Press as the ‘Queen of Prints’, Orla Kiely is an eminent Irish fashion designer based in London. Qualified as a textile designer and a graduate of the RCA, Kiely has designed for Harrods, Marks & Spencer and Habitat. Her design breakthrough came when she created laminated cloth for making handbags; and her signature print ‘Stem’ is universally recognised. Known for her bright and colourful retro-inspired designs, Orla Kiely was awarded with an OBE in recognition of her services to business and the fashion industry in 2011. She draws upon childhood memories of a family kitchen with a retro vibe featuring olive green and orange, along with graphic tiles. Orla Kiely enjoys making ‘happy prints that make you smile’!
