Million Hugs BrassThis stunning bear has been created in celebration of the amazing and as yet "Unsurpassed" feat acheived by Steiff in 1907, when they produced 1 million bears in 1 year.
In honour of this acheivement this beautiful bear is sporting an elegant bow bearing the years "1907" and "2007" which has been embroidered with gold thread.
The motto for these bears is a "Million Hugs" as the term hug has been associated with the teddy bear for years and years.
This bear is one of a limited edition of 3000 (worldwide) and will only be produced in 2007. He is fully jointed and stands at 28cm tall.
SteiffSteiff have been manufacturing bears and other collectable characters for over 125 years. All their cuddly companions are "made in Germany" in Steiff's own factory.
As with all those characters made in the early days, it is still the manual skills that make each Steiff product wonderfully unique.
Each Steiff bear is signified by a "Tag" in its left ear, and each of these tags has a meaning.
A Yellow Tag - identifies the bears which are produced in unlimited numbers
A White & Black Tag - identifies a limited edition bear which is a replica of one originally produced by Steiff many years ago.
A White & Red Tag - identifies a limited edition bear which will be produced as a special for the current year, or to commemorate an occasion.
