They had a simple retailing philosophy. Shopping should be fun! The Early Days Mike and Sheena set about creating a store that would sell unusual gifts, at a price people could afford, and to make sure that customers felt comfortable while shopping. They felt, (and still feel), that too many shops take their customers for granted, so they tried to create stores where customers feel welcome, are listened to rather than sold to, and where the goods on offer are priced within the reach of all budgets. Expansion of the Company Over the next ten years the company opened stores in Amersham, Beaconsfield, and St. Albans, and moved to a more central location in Berkhamsted. Turnover grew rapidly, helped by the expansion of the Amersham and Beaconsfield stores, and the building of a central warehouse and head office in Amersham. The company became a limited company in 1999, but ownership remains entirely in the hands of Mike and Sheena Adams. Annual turnover now exceeds £2 million, still small by the standards of the big High Street Multiples, but big enough to make us one of the most successful independent gift retailers in the United Kingdom, and big enough for you to have complete confidence in our integrity and professionalism. How We Do Business Quite simply, Temptation sees itself in partnership with its customers. We try to treat our customers the way we ourselves want to be treated when we go shopping. We want you to spend what you can afford, not what would maximise our profits. | Making A Purchase How to Shop At the top of every page you will find all the categories from Dunoon Mugs through Terraumundi Money Pots to Collectable Bears. Simply click on whichever one you would like to look in first. You can also make an instant selection from the BestSellers and New Products featured on every page. Using the Shopping Basket When you have decided which product or products you would like to buy, then click, "Buy". This item will then automatically be included in your basket. Once you have placed an item in your basket, you will be redirected to the site and you can shop for more. At any time you can check the contents of your shopping cart by clicking "View Cart". How do I delete an item? If you place an item into your cart which you later decide you no longer wish to buy then you can remove it. How do I change the quantity I wish to order? If you would like to buy more than one of any item then all you need to do is specify the quantity you require. To do this clik in the box headed quantity and then change the figure in this box (which will be set at a default of 1) to the number you require. If you make this change on the Sopping Cart page you will need to press 'Update' to apply your changes. Making Your Purchase When you have finished browsing and are ready to purchase your goods, go to the checkout by clicking the Checkout button. At the checkout you need to complete a form with your name, e-mail address, home address and telephone number. This information is required so that we are able to send you your receipt and goods, or contact you if there are any problems with your order. There will also be a section entitled delivery address which you can fill in if you would like the delivery to be sent to a different address than your own home address. At this stage you will be transferred to a secure payment page provided by our industry-leading payment service provider, Protx. There you will need to enter your credit card details - which will include your card number, expiry date and the name of the card holder. You will then fill in the separate delivery address to which you want your goods sent. On the paymnent pages you will complete the form with your name address and credit card details etc. Gift Wrapping Service We also offer a gift wrapping service. If you wish to send the items you have selected as a gift then we can wrap them for you. The items will be beautifully wrapped and ribboned for a charge of £2.50 per gift. Processing your order To process the order please ensure you have entered all the necessary details such as delivery address and your valid credit card details and then click "submit order". Once you have submitted the order a page will appear which confirms your order details, personal details and the amount which will be debited from your credit card. Having received a valid order, TemptationGifts.com will then despatch your goods from our warehouse within 24 hours, and we would exect them to arrive with you in 2-5 days. The goods may not be what you ordered, they may have been damaged in transit, or you may just not like what you see when it arrives. We want you to feel totally confident that if, for any reason at all, you are not completely happy with your purchase, you can return it to us at our expense, and we will refund your original payment in full. So, if you are unhappy with your purchase this is what you should do: Email us to inform us you wish to return the goods. (within 24 hours of receiving your goods if possible) We will send you the cost of postage. You can then return the goods to us free of charge in their original packaging.
