Award Winners Temptation Gifts has five high street branches in Amersham, Berkhamsted, Beaconsfield, Henley-on-Thames and Windsor, as well as a hardworking warehouse team and an ever-expanding ecommerce department.
In the last few years we have won awards including "UK Online Gift Retailer of the Year" and the prestigious national "UK Gift Retailer of the Year", and this we once again were awarded the title of "UK Online Gift Retailer of the Year".
Philosophy Everyone who comes to work at Temptation is told on day one that our philosophy is shopping should be fun. And of course, working for us should be fun too, but it's the commitment of our sales assistants and managers to providing really great customer service day in, day out, which will make the experience special for our customers. So all employees are expected to be enthusiastic team members and work to achieve excellent standards of customer service at all times
Hours Our stores are open from 9am until 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and between 10.30am and 4.30pm on Sundays in Amersham, Berkhamsted, and Beaconsfield; and between 11am - 5pm in Henley and Windsor. Everybody arrives in advance of the doors being open, so that we're all ready to meet our first customers having already been briefed, caffeinated, and whatever else the morning needs! And at the end of the day there are some jobs to do (the hoovering for instance!) that we wouldn't want to do while our customers were still enjoying browsing - so we stay on for a bit after the doors close.
Training Our basic training is divided into four modules
InductionCustomer ServiceStock - Display workStock - DeliveriesThese training modules will be progressed and covered by your manager over your first few months. It will be your responsibility to try to retain everything you'll be taught. Don't worry you don't need to have a perfect memory, just plenty of commitment! And in addition to formal modular training you will receive on-the-job training on a daily and even an hourly basis from your manager and your colleagues. We're all very friendly and there's always more to learn!
Uniform We don't have one. All we ask is that you look smart and fairly conventional.
Holidays You earn paid holiday from the very first day of your employment and your annual entitlement will be 5.6 weeks (28 days) for a full time member of staff. However being in the gift industry there are a few times of year when it's just not possible to take holiday - mainly November and December as you might guess! There are also a couple of other 'pressure' times like the week before Mothers' Day. Your manager will take you through our Holiday Planner and advise you on when you can and can't book time off.
Staff Discount You get 10% discount on most items from your first day and after you've been with us a month you can even operate a monthly account (over 18's only, store staff only). From month 6 your discount rate goes up to 30% - very useful at Christmas time! All staff discount purchases must be made in store based on in-store prices, and staff discount is of course not available on Sale items.
Birthdays This is a business where caring about birthdays is pretty important - who would we sell gifts and cards to if it weren't for birthdays?! So let us know when yours is, and you'll get a card and even a special Temptation voucher to be redeemed any time on anything you like!

Growth and Career Development Temptation Gifts is growing fast, and our best people will grow with us. Our Operations Manager is the most senior person in the company, but she first worked first in the warehouse, then the stores, before managing one store then another and now, well, everybody! The Deputy Head of E-Commerce first worked for Temptation as a Christmas Temp in the warehouse. Each of our current branch managers was a sales assistant before joining the management programme and each now has her own store.
We are continuing to open new stores and the web department is doubling in size and turnover every two years. Cream rises, and we promote from within.
