Mugs made from fine bone china clay have a brilliance, a translucence and an elegance impossible to achieve using heavier stoneware clay.

From January 1st 2009 all Dunoon mugs were made using china clay, so their stoneware mugs are gradually being phased out.

Dunoon Pottery

Dunoon mugs have been made in Staffordshire, in the traditional heart of the Potteries since the early 1980s, and many of them are still made there today. Their mugs are made from fine bone china clay, using the traditional "slip" making process. China clay is noted for its strength, its fineness and its whiteness, which allows it to take almost any style of decoration.
